Accounts & Access

With a great University comes access to great technology. At Suffolk, you'll have two accounts: one for email and one for the University portal. Plus, you have instant access to Suffolk's wireless network.

Connecting with Suffolk

Both your email account (which is also your Active Directory account) and your portal account require a user name and password.

Signing into your Suffolk Email

Every member of the Suffolk University community has a Suffolk email account. If you're a student, you should have received your email user name and temporary password from ITS.

Connect to your Suffolk email via the web at or by using an email client. Microsoft Outlook® is the default email software for Suffolk community members.

Signing into Blackboard and MySuffolk

You have access to the University portals Blackboard, our learning management system and MySuffolk, which provides access to campus announcements and essential course information.

Your user name is the same as for your email. If you have not yet received your login information, please contact the University ServiceDesk at 617-557-2000, 8:30 a.m.–8 p.m. Monday–Friday. You must provide the ServiceDesk personnel with your University ID number in order to receive login information.

Connecting to the Wireless Network

Every member of the Suffolk University community has access to the campus wireless network. You will need to use your Suffolk Active Directory/email username and password to sign in. Contact the University Service Desk if you are having trouble signing in.
