Safety Data Sheets (SDSs)
Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) are detailed documents written by manufacturers to inform you about the hazards and characteristics of the products you work with. Information included in SDSs helps Suffolk University choose safe products, personal protective equipment, and spill control measures. Under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's Hazard Communication Standard, Suffolk is required to make these sheets accessible at all times.
To access a Safety Data Sheet:
- Check your location's SDS binder
- Request a copy from your supervisor
- Go to Safety Data Sheet Search and click on "Search SDS"
- Request a copy from the chemical manufacturer
If you have questions or can't access an SDS, please contact the Office of Environmental Health & Safety.
