Biography

Kevin M. Carragee teaches courses focusing of media effects, media criticism, visual aesthetics, and the internet and public discussion. He has published more than 30 journal articles and book chapters. He also has edited six scholarly books, including Communication Activism: Struggling for Social Justice Amidst Difference. His publications have focused on multiple topics, including contributions to both framing scholarship and activist-oriented communication research. He received a Fulbright Scholarship for teaching and research in Poland. Carragee serves as the Co-Director of the Media Research and Action Project, a group that assists social movement organizations and community groups in framing their messages, influencing news coverage, and securing political reforms.
