Biography

Michael Eisenstein has over 20 years of diverse leadership, managerial and transactional experience across corporate finance, treasury, capital market, securitization and investment management functions.

For 15 years, Michael served as the Corporate Treasurer and Head of Asset Management of First Eagle Alternative Credit, formerly known as NewStar Financial, Inc., a premier, publicly traded, internally managed, $7.5B commercial finance company. He also served as Chief Financial Officer of the firm's de novo business development company (First Eagle BDC, LLC). During his time at NewStar Financial, Michael led the public company’s treasury, capital markets, investment valuation, and quantitative analytics functions. The firm was an early pioneer of the private credit markets, extending over $15B in loans to US middle market businesses and issuing more than 30 complex securitizations fund its investing activities.

Prior to First Eagle Alternative Credit, Michael spent 5 years at MUFG, one of the world’s largest financial institutions, where he worked in the corporate investment bank in the securitization, transportation and lender finance groups. There, he focused on structuring and executing asset-backed financing and leasing transactions for clients in the aviation, container, shipping, specialty finance, and rail industries.
