Biography

Professor Ki Han served the school for sixteen years in the past as chairperson of the Finance Department and as director of the Master of Science in Finance program.  As a CFP (certified financial planner), he founded the BSBA with Financial Planning Concentration and the Certificate in Financial Planning, and both programs are registered with the CFP Board. He is currently working as a liaison between the School and the CFP Board. He is a Ph.D. in Finance, researching in the fields of corporate finance, investment, international finance, and analysis of lotteries.  A number of his research papers were published in prestigious journals, including Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, Journal of Financial Research, and Financial Review, and he presented his papers at many conferences domestically and internationally. He served as Executive Board Member of Korean American Finance Association.

Honors and Recognitions

  • His co-authored paper, "International Diversification into Emerging Equity Markets from the Perspective of U.S. Investors," was selected as the Best Paper in International Finance by Southwestern Finance Association in 2015.
  • His paper, "The Effects of Reverse Splits on the Liquidity of the Stock" published in Journal of Financial and Quantitative Analysis, was cited more than 100 times in the related literature.
