Biography
Dr. Tammy MacLean is an expert in leadership development and organizational behavior, with significant experience helping organizations assess their development needs, designing and delivering training and leadership development programs, and coaching mid- and senior-level managers. Her research focuses on the intersection of compliance/ethics program adoption and implementation, as well as exploring issues related to identity and identification in organizations.
Her recent research explores the use of AI in improving team performance, and the role of psychological safety at the sub-team level of analysis. She has published in Journal of Management, Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Journal of Business Ethics, and other high quality academic journals. She has been awarded research grants from Suffolk University and State Farm Insurance Company Foundation. She serves on the editorial review board of Business & Society Review.
Tammy teaches MBA and undergraduate students and has developed the "Collaborate" course MBA 721 for the MBA program. She has established relationships with companies such as Reebok, Biogen, Charles River Labs, and Bank of America for MBA student consulting projects. She also teaches the MBA capstone course Leading Organizational Change.
Tammy led the Director of the Center for Executive Education and the Executive MBA program from 2013-2021. She currently leads SBS executive education efforts as the Director of SBS Corporate Education and established a partnership between SBS and the Massachusetts Society of CPAs to develop and deliver leadership development for their members. She has also led leadership development initiatives with companies such as Trip Advisor, Bose, Charles River Labs, Manulife, and the Federal Aviation Administration. She has served as the faculty advisor for Suffolk University Graduate Business Association (SUGBA), is co-advisor for Suffolk University Graduate Women in Business Association (GWIB), and currently serves on the Faculty Senate.
