MSA Fall 2023 Curriculum
The business landscape is constantly evolving, and so are we. We are excited to announce a revised MS in Accounting curriculum available for students starting fall 2023. With three new concentration options that each match anticipated content changes to the CPA exam beginning in 2024, the Suffolk MSA will continue to do what it’s always done best: prepare students for success in the accounting industry and become CPA-ready.
Flexible and Focused
Our revised MSA curriculum is designed to welcome students from a range of academic backgrounds. Students who have already completed a U.S. undergraduate degree in accounting can pursue a focused, 10-course (30 credit) program with the option to specialize in one of three new concentrations that match the discipline-specific sections coming to the CPA Exam in 2024: Business Analysis and Reporting (BAR), Information Systems and Controls (ISC), and Tax Compliance and Planning (TCP).
Candidates without a prior U.S. undergraduate degree in accounting will have the option to select between a streamlined, 11-course (30 credit) essentials option or an extended, 14 course (39 credit) essentials plus option. The essentials curriculum will help students develop a strong foundation in accounting fundamentals, and the essentials plus option gives students the opportunity to extend their degree and take advantage of a discipline-specific concentration.
