HOPE Connects Experiential Learning Lab

Helping Others Progress and Excel (HOPE) Connects is an experiential learning lab that helps others prepare for and excel at reaching their potential. The lab is a collaborative and interdisciplinary initiative between Suffolk University's Moakley Center for Public Management and University faculty from the psychology and sociology and criminal justice departments.

The experiential learning lab will provide opportunities for Suffolk students to gain concrete experience beyond the classroom and engage in critical reflection. The project aims to positively impact educational and employment outcomes for underserved/disadvantaged youth in Boston's urban neighborhoods with a focus on expanding their options and pathways in accordance with individual aspirations, needs, interests, and circumstances.

HOPE Connects will initially focus on the Summer iWorks Internship Program, then will roll out a series of trauma-informed trainings and workshops for students and professionals working in the field of youth programming.
