Special Accommodations

At Suffolk University, we're proud of our inclusive and affirming community for all—from our students, faculty, and staff to our alumni, families, and guests.

If you have any questions or concerns, please see our Notice of Non-Discrimination, along with a list of appropriate contacts.

Students & Families with Disabilities

Suffolk's commitment to all of our students' success means that we ensure full access to University programs and services. If you're a new student or family member and you anticipate needing an accommodation or assistance during orientation, please contact the Office of Orientation & New Student Programs or the Office of Disability Services as soon as possible.

You can use the online orientation registration system to detail your request for orientation accommodations related to physical (permanent or temporary), learning, visual, hearing, or other disabilities. Please do so, when possible, at least 10 business days before your scheduled session.

Accommodation requests for the academic year follow a different process and must be arranged by working with Disability Services. You'll have time to meet with this office during orientation.

Trans* Guide to Orientation

We're committed to creating a welcoming climate for our transgender, genderqueer, and gender non-conforming students, faculty, and staff. Visit the Trans* Guide to Suffolk site for more information on our resources. At orientation, we'll offer accommodations to meet the needs of entering Trans* students. If you have concerns about orientation or would like to request accommodations, please contact either our Office of Diversity Services (for questions about Suffolk University's LGBTQ+ Community) or the Department of Residence Life & Housing (for questions about orientation housing accommodations).

If you prefer a different first name on your orientation name tag than the one currently listed on your Suffolk records, please note this in the special accommodations section when you register for orientation. If, when you arrive at orientation, your name tag still doesn't display your preferred name, we'll happily make you a new one. Please see a staff member at the check-in help desk.
