Welcome Programs

Jump right into student life at Suffolk in your first semester on campus! We've designed a number of programs to help you meet more of your classmates, get involved, and feel confident in your decision to join our community. #SuffolkWelcome

Previous welcome programs have included events such as: International student programming, snacks and refreshment breaks, residence hall socials and floor meetings, Taco Tuesday with the President, ski and snow tubing trips, Suffolk Night at the Movies, Queer Student Union Family Dinner, performances by Suffolk's improv troupe Seriously Bent, and a number of University sports team events.

Red Sox vs Kansas City Royals Watch Party/Paint Night

Stop by to cheer on the Red Sox! Not interested in watching the game? That’s fine! Instead, paint the night away with other new students!

Trivia Night

7 – 8:30 p.m. | Keches Room, Sargent Hall

An evening of trivia fun! Test your knowledge for a chance of winning awesome gift card prizes. See you there!

Welcome Fest Carnival

6 – 9:30 p.m. | Roemer Plaza

Did someone say “Sunday Funday?!" There is no better way to welcome our new students than with a carnival theme extravaganza! Head on over to Roemer Plaza for a night full of fun! Get ready to throw some axes, get creative with bleach dye and airbrush, enjoy free food from local food trucks, card readings, and so much more—see you there!

Fall Orientation

At fall orientation you will engage with classmates through group development and social activities. Participate in experiential learning opportunities tied to Suffolk’s commitment to service. Become familiar with the Suffolk University campus and community and develop a tool kit to be successful in your first year at Suffolk University.

Fall Involvement Fair

6 – 8 p.m. | Sargent Hall

Get to see all that Suffolk has to offer by stopping by the Involvement Fair! Play with the Video Game Association, dance with Passion Latina, or get cultured with Asian American Association! All 100+ student clubs with involvement opportunities will be represented! The Involvement Fair is a great opportunity to really immerse yourself in the Suffolk community and learn what it means to be a part of the RAMily!

New Student Convocation

11 a.m. – 12 p.m. | Tremont Temple (88 Tremont Street, Boston, MA 02108)

Convocation marks the start of your University career. At this gathering, faculty and senior administrators will welcome first-year and transfer students into the Suffolk community and formally open the academic year. All new undergraduate students are invited to the Convocation ceremony and are expected to participate. Please wear your Yellow Class 2027 Shirts.

Suffolk University’s Center for Community Engagement, Office of External Affairs and Division of Student Affairs welcomes students back to campus and invites them to meet community partners and neighbors. We will be handing out information on city regulations as well as Suffolk-related events, programs and policies. Students are encouraged to stop by community partner tables to learn about the nonprofits in the area and sign up for volunteer, federal work-study opportunities, and part-time employment in the neighborhood!
