International Student Resources

The International Student Services Office (ISSO) at Suffolk University assists international students with advice on immigration, guidance on academic matters, and offers help on the adjustment to American culture.

As the main resource for our international community, ISSO offers:

  • Advising international students, scholars, and departments on immigration procedures and issues
  • Assisting students and departments with integration and cross-cultural communication
  • Developing and sponsoring programs for international students on topics including immigration, adjustment to American society and culture, academic matters, and university resources
  • Working with departments on inviting and hiring international scholars

English Language Support

Suffolk's Center for Learning & Academic Success, (CLAS) provides a wide range of support for English language learners. CLAS offers English language support including online and in-person tutoring, academic English programs, and the Legal English Institute.

The INTO Suffolk program offers Pathway programs that blend academic preparation and intensive English-language training to prepare international students for the rigors of a Suffolk University degree program. The one-, two- or three-semester programs are designed to ease an international student’s transition to a new country and educational system, improve English skills, and fulfill certain academic coursework requirements for their intended major or degree program.
