Our program tracks students throughout their high school careers, providing timely and appropriate information about the college application and financial aid process.

Weekly After-School Tutoring/Homework Sessions

Students receive additional academic support from Upward Bound staff in all required courses, in collaboration with Boston Public Schools.

Tutor.com

Tutor.com is an online platform at Upward Bound scholars’ expense. Scholars receive 24/7 help from tutors in real time.

Homework Tracker

The homework tracker is a tool created by Suffolk University Upward Bound which aides in the organization of scholars’ assignments.

Supplemental Instruction

Suffolk hosts intensive academic sessions, including classes in mathematics, science, and English and workshops focused on SAT and MCAS preparation.

College Readiness

Students take several college tours throughout the school year. Senior seminars provide students with assistance navigating the application and financial aid process for college. Students may also participate in service learning and resume development opportunities.

Summer Program

For six weeks during the summer, students can visit and live on the Suffolk campus. During this time, they take courses, enjoy enriching social and cultural activities, and participate in service and vocational learning opportunities.

Monthly Saturday Sessions

Each month, scholars participate in Saturday Sessions which promote cultural awareness, life-based skills, and psychosocial maturity through engaging activities and interactive workshops. Saturday Session workshops include financial literacy, college affordability, election process information, S.M.A.R.T. goals, and a series of sustainable self-care workshops, to name a few.
