Accreditation
Sawyer Business School is the only business school in the U.S. simultaneously accredited by these three organizations and is routinely awarded for the exceptional quality of its programs and graduates.
Accreditations
The Sawyer Business School is the only Boston business school to achieve AACSB accreditation for its business administration programs and supplemental accreditation for its accounting programs.
SBS received initial AACSB accreditation in 1989, and the accounting accreditation was initially received in 2001.
Suffolk's Master of Public Administration (MPA) is a NASPAA-accredited degree program. We’re also the only Boston business school to have earned dual accreditation by AACSB International and NASPAA. SBS received initial NASPAA accreditation in 1980.
Suffolk's Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) is a CAHME-accredited degree program. We always strive to offer learning opportunities for our students that prepare them to address the challenges they will face as healthcare leaders and managers. The CAHME's initial accreditation was received in 2016.
Suffolk University is accredited by the New England Commission of Higher Education (NECHE). Suffolk received this initial NECHE accreditation in 1952.
Accreditation Leadership
Sawyer Business School's accreditation efforts are led by Jason Peterson, Director of Accreditation, who oversees the school's continuous improvement processes and supports accreditation initiatives across business, public administration, and healthcare programs.
Jason Peterson is the former Chair of the Accounting & Business Law Department and currently serves as the Director of Accreditation. A dedicated educator, Professor Peterson teaches courses in business law, business ethics, corporate crime, and values-based decision-making. He takes particular pride in the development of an innovative two-course module that integrates business ethics across Suffolk's MBA program, fostering a holistic approach to ethical decision-making in business education.
