While they're in school, Suffolk theatre majors intern with companies in Boston, around the country, and abroad. This invaluable hands-on learning sets the stage for their professional success.


Internships are an integral part of the theatre program at Suffolk. All of our majors are required to complete a professional internship, which we'll help you arrange through our partnerships with theatre companies worldwide.

Our graduates confidently go on to work as performing arts professionals—actors, designers, directors, stage managers, casting professional, educators, and arts administrators. They work at a wide range of acclaimed performance companies such as Guthrie Theatre, Upright Citizens Brigade, Armory at Park Avenue, American Repertory Theatre, and on Broadway.

Theatre alumni also build careers as nonprofit leaders, lawyers, educators, and business entrepreneurs. Recent alumni have gone on to graduate school at New York University, Brown University, Juilliard, and California Institute for the Arts.
