US News and World Report Best Undergraduate Business Programs, 2022-2023 logo Our Management and Entrepreneurship Department offers undergraduate majors and minors in both Entrepreneurship and Management. We also offer MBA concentrations in Entrepreneurship and Organizational Behavior.

The department takes an active, hands-on approach to teaching. You won’t just read about best practices, you’ll actually test them—you’ll pitch ideas to executives at real companies and help clients tackle real business challenges. You may even start your own business before graduation like many of our alumni.

Throughout the program, you’ll receive unwavering support. Our faculty is well-connected and engaged in the local business community. They share their experiences, offer career advice, and help you grow professionally.

Our alumni have launched hundreds of successful ventures, including candy.com and StyleHaul. You can connect with them and collaborate with your peers at our Center for Entrepreneurship, to find out how you can transform ideas into businesses. The Center offers many other resources, including training workshops, mentor sessions, and entrepreneurship competitions.

Entrepreneurship Majors

The Entrepreneurship major takes you on a practical journey of idea generation, opportunity feasibility, business planning, and strategic consulting with small firms. And, you’ll work with faculty to create a new venture.

Entrepreneurship Minors

As a minor in entrepreneurship, you’ll learn how to identify business opportunities, write a business plan, manage risk, resolve conflict, and collaborate with teams.

Management Majors

With a major in management, you’ll learn how to work collaboratively and lead effectively in today’s competitive global marketplace. You’ll graduate an innovative, creative, and effective problem solver, who’s ready to manage many different types of organizations. And you’ll have the confidence to lead diverse teams that encompass different cultural, ethical, political, and behavioral perspectives.

Management Minors

With a minor in management, you’ll learn how to work collaboratively and be an effective leader in whichever field you choose.

Leadership Minor

In the classroom, students learn ways to create a positive culture and an engaged workforce, create and lead changes, and lead diverse multicultural teams. Outside the classroom, students participate in leadership experiences provided by the Journey Leadership Program, which can be completed over multiple years.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Minor

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) minor prepares business students to work with today’s increasingly diverse and global workforce by exploring the social, institutional, and psychological processes that impact the way employees perceive and interact with one another.

Social Impact Minor

The Social Impact Minor provides students with a multidisciplinary approach to understanding the theory and practice of enacting social change. The minor is very hands-on. All required classes expect students to initiate, launch, and evaluate a social change effort.
