Welcome to the Suffolk RAMily!

We’ve designed our RAMily Training Series especially for new Suffolk students and their families. Get ready for invaluable insights into our community and tips on how to successfully transition to life at Suffolk University. You’ll get to know essential campus resources and have the opportunity to address any timely questions you might have.

Explore the details of each training session below, and make your way to a successful Suffolk experience. Please note: You do not have to attend every training. Feel free to pick and choose!

Pre-registration isn’t required. A Zoom link for each training session will be emailed to all new students and family members two (2) business days before it’s set to take place.

We encourage you to download the Zoom application and access the event on a desktop for the best possible viewing experience.

You’ve Deposited… What’s Next?

Join us for our “You’ve Deposited… What’s Next?” RAM Training Workshop and find out what to expect at orientation, immunization upload instructions, course selection, University Housing portal, and more!

Proud to be FIRST! Making the most of your college experience

Date & Time: May 21, 2024 7 p.m. EST
For: Deposited first generation students and families

Arriving on campus for your first day of college as a First-Generation student can be intimidating – but it doesn’t have to be!

Join us for our “Proud to be FIRST!” RAM Training Workshop and find out exactly what to expect during your time at Suffolk, as well as the support services designed just for you.

Dr. Jarvis Chen, Director of the McNair Scholars Program, and Bea Patiño, Director of the Center for Student Diversity & Inclusion, will introduce you to all the resources and tools available for new First-Generation students and families. They’ll also answer any questions you may have prior to the start of the fall semester.

Transfer Student Tips

For: Deposited transfer students

So, you’re new to campus, but not to college! This transition may look a little different, but don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

Join us for our “Transfer Student Tips” RAM Training Workshop, where we’ll outline important next steps for transfer students and share helpful advice on navigating the transfer student experience at Suffolk!

Admission counselors will cover how to get transfer credits assessed and applied towards your degree, action items you’ll need to accomplish prior to the start of the fall semester, and common mistakes you can avoid in the transfer process. 

International Student Transition Guidance

Date & Time: June 3, 2024 8 a.m. EST & 5:30 p.m. EST
For: Deposited international students

We know that as an international student, your journey to Suffolk can seem overwhelming at first. That’s why we’ve designed a RAM Training Workshop just for you!

Join us for our session on “International Student Transition Guidance,” presented by the International Student Services Office. They’ll help answer any questions about the transition into the United States and the University, and remind you of action items you’ll need to complete this summer, including immigration paperwork and health policies.

How to Pay the Bill?

Paying tuition can feel daunting, we know! Let’s break it down and explore your options together.

To get a better sense of what paying your tuition bill will look like. Representatives from the Ram Financial Center will cover the step-by-step process of paying your tuition bill—as fall tuition bills are currently available to students and families—as well as answer any general questions you may have about funding your education!

Fall Sport Student-Athletes: Know Before You Go

Find out what you need to know before the start of your season by joining us. We'll outline what you can expect from your pre-season, what action items you’ll need to complete before the start of the academic year, and what the move-in process for residential student athletes will look like. 

Commuter Life: Mapping Out Your Experience

Commuting students and their families have unique needs! Whether you’re new to the city or new to higher education, this training will empower you with the knowledge and resources you’ll need to connect with your fellow commuters and the greater Suffolk community. Get insider tips, meet your peers, and gain insights on making the most of your commuter student experience.

Shipping off to Boston: Everything You Need to Know About Moving Into Your University Housing

Date & Time: August 6, 2024 7 p.m. EST
For: Deposited students living in university housing and families

Moving into college is a huge step! Nervous about roommates? Doing laundry for the first time? Never been to Boston before? That’s all normal, let’s talk about it!

We’ll cover everything you need to know about moving into your University housing in this info session. We’ll discuss the move-in process, what to pack, and any other action items you’ll need to complete before the start of the fall semester.
