For CUES lectures, someone in the field comes to speak about what they do and what they are doing currently. This allows students to see different fields they can go into while also allowing them to network. For this lecture, Hotze Wijnja from the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources will be coming to speak. The event will take place on Thursday, March 23rd during activities period (12:30 p.m. - 1:10 p.m.) in Samia room 317.
Hotze Wijnja is an environmental chemist at the Massachusetts Department of Agricultural Resources and has worked there since 2008. Within the Division of Crop & Pest Services, he is responsible for reviews and assessments of impacts to human health and the environment in support of pesticide regulation in Massachusetts. Wijnja will be talking about the projects he has worked on as an environmental chemist as well as the career path he took to get to where he is today.
