Conditionally Admitted Transfer Students

In the Conditionally Admitted Transfer Students (CATS) program at the Center for Learning and Academic Success, we work to ensure a smooth transition for those transfer students who may have struggled at their previous school but are motivated to succeed at Suffolk.

Students are selected by the Office of Admissions to participate in this program. If selected, you will be required to meet with Lori Rosenberg, your academic coach, several times throughout your first semester in order to formulate an action plan for academic success.

During these meetings we may also cover topics such as career goals, advising concerns, and general issues related to transitioning to a new university setting. In addition, you may be referred to other offices on campus, or given information on CLAS services such as tutoring, study groups or workshops.

Benefits

You will receive the opportunity to meet with an academic coach for individualized assistance throughout your first semester, and beyond. You will also be able to meet with your coach before orientation to review your transfer credits and begin to map out a schedule for your upcoming semester.

Requirements

You will be required to meet with your academic coach at least three times throughout your first semester at Suffolk. As with all students, you must receive at least a 2.0 to remain in good academic standing.
