Research Interests

My scholarly interests focus on human physiology, public health, and the translation of basic biological science into clinical and real-world applications. I am particularly interested in health disparities, asthma outcomes research, medical education, and evidence-based strategies that enhance student learning and scientific literacy.

Teaching Philosophy

I believe students learn science most effectively when they understand not only what happens in biological systems, but why it happens. My teaching emphasizes active engagement, critical thinking, and the integration of biology with related disciplines such as chemistry, physics, and public health, helping students connect foundational concepts to real-world and clinical applications. I foster an inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity, discussion, and individualized support to help all students succeed.
