Biography

Professor Simone Kang focuses her work on U.S. legal reasoning and analysis, with a comparative perspective on U.S. common law and international civil law systems, and U.S. written and oral advocacy, with the aim of preparing students for the Uniform Bar Exam and the California Bar Exam.

Before joining the Suffolk Law Faculty, Professor Simone Kang worked with Boston University to support JD graduates' bar exam success. She has also worked with JD and LLM graduates from several U.S. law schools to achieve success on the UBE and Non-UBE bar exams. When required, Professor Simone Kang teaches the subject in the student’s native language for bilingual and law comparison purposes.

Professor Simone Kang has taught U.S. legal reasoning and analysis domestically as an Adjunct Faculty member at Boston College Law School and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy. Professor Simone Kang has supported the rule of law by advancing international development of U.S. legal reasoning and analysis skills, in collaboration with NGOs and Tashkent State University of Law in Uzbekistan and elsewhere, as the Director of International Programs and the Visiting Scholar Program at Boston College Law School.

In that capacity, Professor Simone Kang supported the complaint to the UN Human Rights Committee on behalf of Sairam Rivas in 2014 and wrote the foreword to the book, Fake Democracy: A Internet Contra a Democracia Constitucional, by Professor Gustavo Ferreira Santos, which was nominated for the Premio Jabuti in Brazil.

Her other work includes drafting a memorandum to the ABA and contributing to the drafting of ABA Resolution 10B, Judicial Division, Regarding the Judiciary in Turkey, as well as collaborative supervision of an amicus curiae brief in the landmark case of Azul Rojas Marin v. Peru before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
