Graduate Certificate in Fundamentals of Taxation
This program is designed especially for seasoned tax professionals looking to refresh their knowledge, as well as more recent tax professionals looking to gain more in-depth knowledge in the field.
The Graduate Certificate in Fundamentals of Taxation reviews federal income taxation of individuals, including the use of the primary tax software to prepare and file timely tax returns for corporate and pass-through entities. The program focuses particularly on the principles of accounting for income taxes, including calculation of current and deferred taxes, valuation allowance, uncertain tax positions, and issues pertaining to multinational companies.
This certificate program is designed to be completed part-time in two semesters on campus. You can continue to build on your tax knowledge by stacking the Graduate Certificate in Fundamentals of Taxation with our Graduate Certificates in Tax Audit Defense, Corporate Taxation, or Taxation of Wealth.
If you apply to the MS in Accounting (MSA) degree program or another eligible graduate business degree program, you may be able to apply the courses in this certificate program to reduce the time it will take to complete your master’s degree.
