Filmmaking Summer Program
From July 6–18, 2025, dive into the world of moviemaking with our dynamic community of filmmakers, teachers, and VIP guest speakers and industry professionals. Here in downtown Boston—a city immortalized on the silver screen—you’ll develop your skills in directing, editing, screenwriting, sound design, camera work, and collaboration. You’ll also work with industry-standard equipment and software, see what it’s like to be part of a creative team, and have serious fun.
You don’t need prior filmmaking experience to enjoy this program, just a desire to maximize every moment of this amazing experience.
Join us for a summer program virtual information session
Learn more about the Summer Public History Institute and our Summer Film Program and what to expect this summer. During this session, you'll have the opportunity to meet with program director Professor Katy Lasdow, staff members, and past Summer Institute alumni. They will share their experiences, provide an overview of the two-week program, and address any questions you may have. We look forward to seeing you there!
