Internships Help Launch Government Careers
Both academic and non-credit internships are available. Our students intern at federal, state, and local agencies; non-governmental organizations; and nonprofits. You can also intern on Capitol Hill through our partnership with the Washington Center, and in Europe through our affiliation with Educational Programmes Abroad. Both the Government Department and the Career Development Center can help you find an internship.
A major in government provides excellent preparation for careers in government, international affairs, journalism, and business, as well as graduate study in law, political science, public administration, and more.
