Faculty Nominations
Fields pertaining to information about the nominee are required for submission, but nominator fields are optional (nominations can be anonymous, if you prefer).
McNair Scholars are exemplary undergraduate students from first generation, low income, and underrepresented backgrounds who are interested in earning a PhD or joint PhD in the future. The McNair staff will check student eligibility upon receiving nominations, so don't worry about having to check this yourself.
Nominations for faculty mentors and faculty affiliates are also encouraged. Faculty mentors supervise student research projects and assist students with the graduate school admissions process alongside McNair Staff. Faculty Affiliates are faculty members from areas including: Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, Social Sciences, Behavioral Sciences, and the Humanities. These affiliates serve as advocates for the McNair program in their respective departments, assessing and evaluating the rigor of the McNair program’s research requirements, and assisting in the development of scholarly and educational activities to help prepare participants for doctoral study. Self-nominations of faculty affiliates are accepted.
