Biography
Betsy Byra is an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at Suffolk University Law School where she teaches in the Legal Practice Skills Program.
Professor Byra began her legal career at K&L Gates LLP as a litigation associate and transitioned into public interest work as an immigration attorney with the Victim Rights Law Center.
Prior to joining Suffolk in July of 2025, Professor Byra taught Legal Skills I and II, Field Placement, and Access to Justice at the University of Massachusetts Law School. During her time at UMass, she was also co-chair of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee.
Professor Byra received her B.A. with honors from the University of Washington and her J.D. from Boston University School of Law.
