Biography
Chanal Neves-McCain is an Assistant Professor of Legal Writing at Suffolk University Law school where she teaches in the Legal Practice Skills Program. Professor McCain’s scholarship focuses on access to justice based legal practice and programming, and other issues in professional responsibility.
Professor McCain practiced as a government lawyer and served as an Assistant Attorney General, specializing in constitutional and administrative law, data privacy and security law, and civil rights law. Professor McCain also served as a Law Clerk to the Honorable Amy Blake of the Massachusetts Appeals Court, and as a Law Clerk to the Justices of the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court. Prior to joining the Suffolk Law Faculty, Professor McCain taught Civil Procedure and Professional Responsibility as a Faculty Fellow at New England Law | Boston. ,/p>
Professor McCain graduated cum laude from New England Law | Boston, where she received the Trustee’s Commencement Award for academic excellence and service to the institution. She received her B.A., cum laude, from the University of South Carolina in Political Science and African American Studies.
Professor McCain serves on the Board of Directors of Veterans Legal Services, which provides free civil legal aid to veterans in Massachusetts.
