Biography

Rachael Dickson was a trademark examining attorney at the USPTO for over four years, where she specialized in examining applications for cannabis trademark registrations as part of a select controlled substance work group. In 2020, she was given a 2020 USPTO Customer Service award for her work examining cannabis applications.

Before her time at the USPTO, Rachael worked with PharmaCann LLC in Illinois on a variety of projects, including drafting cannabis license applications and training employees on applicable federal laws and state regulations and liaising with state agency inspectors. She later worked with legaltech company Haloo (formerly known as Heirlume) to develop artificial intelligence powered trademark search and application drafting tools and as a trademark and cannabis associate with Dykema Gossett.

In her spare time, Rachael researches and writes about Tudor History. She presented on Tudor Trademarks at TudorCon 2021 and will be presenting on Tudor Patents and Copyrights at TudorCon 2022.
