While you study environmental issues of global importance, you'll discover a world of hands-on learning in downtown Boston. As a Suffolk environmental science or environmental studies, you can complete your required practicum in organizations like the Environmental Protection Agency, Massachusetts Department of Public Health, and Massachusetts Office of Coastal Zone Management. Other practicum sites include the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, Sierra Club, Youth Climate Action Network, and Greenpeace.

The Center for Urban Ecology and Sustainability sponsors a series of lectures and brown bag lunch forums that's open to the Suffolk community. These events focus on a broad range of topics including environmentalism, sustainability, environmental health, food systems and food insecurity, oceanography and coastal issues, climate change, and science communication.
