Marking the 25th Anniversary of September 11

Today marks the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Over the course of a few unspeakably tragic hours, our country and our world were changed forever, with aftershocks we continue to feel today.

I know that many of you are spending this day remembering and reflecting, mourning the lives lost that day, honoring the heroism of so many who responded, and pondering lessons we can carry forward. As a University, we have a responsibility to never forget, to honor the sacrifices made on 9/11 and in the quarter-century since, and to educate our students born after that day about its meaning and impact.

This is work we do together, not just today, but every day, as an academic community and as citizens.
