Cleaning & Disinfection

Suffolk's facilities service provider, ABM industries, has been working diligently to maintain a safer campus environment during COVID-19. ABM employs certified disinfection specialists who provide frequent, enhanced cleaning of all high-touch surfaces in common areas. ABM increased the efficiency of the filters used in the heating, air conditioning, and ventilation (HVAC) systems of campus buildings. These systems are additionally set to increase fresh air intake to prevent recirculation of air within a room. In addition

  • Hand sanitizer dispensers have been placed near the entrance of each building and on each floor in the elevator lobby.
  • Wipe/hand sanitizer combination stations will be available in all shared spaces, including libraries, computer labs, cafeterias, classrooms, restrooms (near or inside), and staff kitchens. Floors with shared workstations, including adjunct staff and student club offices and/or department conference areas, will have stations throughout the floor. All requests for additional supplies related to the novel coronavirus must be sent to purchasing@suffolk.edu and not purchased with department-specific budgets.
  • Certified disinfection specialists will provide frequent, enhanced cleaning of all high-touch surfaces in common areas.
  • Overnight cleaning protocols have been increased to follow CDC protocols and include electrostatic spraying on a regular basis.
