Off-Campus & Commuter Student Appreciation Week
Off-Campus Student Appreciation Week is held each semester in collaboration with the Student Government Association, various departments, and student organizations. We acknowledges the extra effort off-campus students make to come to campus each day. During this week-long celebration, we celebrate commuting students for getting involved and staying active in the Suffolk Community. The week includes events such as Coffee Stops each morning, Apartment-Palooza, and Taste of Ram Card, Paint Night, Bingo Night and Build a Lunch. For more details, email us.
How do you stay connected to the campus community as an off-campus or commuter student? How can you find contact information for local utility companies? Our staff can provide you with the answers to these questions and more at our weekly Stay Connected table in the Commuter Student Lounge every Tuesday from 10am-12pm!
Cooking 101 is an opportunity to meet other students, share a meal, and learn a life skill! Three classes are taught in the fall semester and three in the spring semester. Students are required to reserve their spot in the class beforehand as space is limited. One of our very own Sodexo chefs will teach you how to prepare hearty dishes that are simple, fast, and fun! Please RSVP by email. Check out our events tab for specific dates and times!
The Transitions workshops & events are geared toward residence hall students moving off-campus. This series will include apartment search information sessions in the residence halls and a housing fair “Apartment-Palooza” during the spring semester.
Balancing Act: Going to College as a Parent
You are not alone - other students may be having the experience of going to college as a parent, and they have some great advice, insights, tips, and tricks to share with you. Join us once a month for our group networking event.
Law & Graduate Housing Search Program
The Law & Graduate Housing Fair is an opportunity for admitted law and graduate students to interact with brokers and other resources as they prepare to start studying and living in Boston. The event will include a presentation followed by brokers and resources tabling during a reception.
Living off-campus is not always easy. There’s rent to pay each month, groceries to buy, an apartment to keep clean, and roommates to live with. Our staff will work with students seeking help with tenant/landlord disputes, roommate conflicts, and general housing issues. If the office staff is not properly equipped to deal with a situation, they will provide other resources for students to explore.
