Meet Our Team
Stephannie has been a member of the Suffolk community for many years. She completed her undergraduate degree in 2003, earning a B.A. in Government with an International Affairs concentration, and a minor in Latin American studies.
After graduating, she worked in several of Suffolk's academic departments including English, Government, and the Writing Center. While working at Suffolk, she earned an M.S. in Criminal Justice and an M.Ed. in Administration of Higher Education.
Stephannie has experience working with undeclared students, freshman, transfers students and students applying for our Suffolk Madrid and non-Madrid study abroad programs. She also specializes in working with first-generation students and helping first-year students navigate college life.
Stephannie speaks fluent Spanish, and in her spare time, she enjoys dining out, reading, and watching movies.
With well over a decade of experience in higher education, Tim enjoys working with any and all students, and has substantial experience advising undeclared students, international students, student athletes, student veterans, students on academic probation, honors students, and transfer students.
Before becoming an academic advisor, Tim worked in a variety of capacities within academic support services, specifically in academic coaching, tutoring, training, and management.
Originally from Massachusetts, he has since traveled to five to the seven continents, and hopes to make it to all of them. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development and a Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, both from Suffolk University. In his spare time, Tim enjoys travel, poetry, art, and global cuisines, and is a fierce proponent of animal rights.
David has been affiliated with Suffolk for over 30 years as a student, alumnus, instructor and full-time administrator. He holds a B.A. in English from Suffolk, an M.A. in English from Boston College, and is A.B.D. (English) from the University of Rhode Island.
He is the father of two Suffolk alums, one is a double Ram (B.A, and J.D.). David and his wife, Kerstin, have four children (all girls!) and one ornery cat.
David likes to mow his lawn and is passionate about all Boston sports teams. He currently teaches a very popular Seminar for Freshmen course on The Beatles.
Cailyn received both her B.A. in Human Development and her M.Ed in Higher Education from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. While completing her studies, Cailyn was involved in many different clubs and organizations including Orientation and Alternative Break Service Trips. While completing her Masters, she served as the primary academic advisor to First Year Business Majors. In these experiences, she developed a passion for working with students and helping others.
Cailyn’s advising philosophy is to serve as a support to students to assist in developing their short and long term personal, academic, and career goals. She enjoys building relationships with students, helping them find and explore their strengths, and to make the most of their college experience.
Aside from working with students, Cailyn enjoys finding new restaurants, loves to shop, and has a passion for volunteering. Cailyn comes from a big family as the youngest of 5 siblings and is a proud aunt to her Irish twin niece and nephew.
Ashley received her B.A. in Psychology from the College of the Holy Cross and her M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Boston College. While pursuing her undergraduate degree, Ashley explored her passion for community service through multiple Spring Break Immersion trips. At Boston College, she discovered her desire to support students in higher education through her academic mentorship of the college’s student-athletes.
As an academic advisor, Ashley uses a strengths-based approach to holistically support students with their academic studies and career explorations. She enjoys building connections with students and learning about their interests and goals, and how their passions can be fulfilled through different college experiences.
Ashley loves to spend her free time exploring all that New England has to offer. You can often find her shopping around Portsmouth or spending time by the ocean. She loves to travel and has a long list of places she’d like to visit next. She makes sure to see her family’s dog in NH as frequently as possible!
Shayna received her Master's of Education in Higher Education from Merrimack College in North Andover, MA. During her time at Merrimack, Shayna advised first year and sophomore students in the Girard School of Business. In addition to her M.Ed., she completed her undergraduate degree from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor's of Science in Interdisciplinary Health Studies and a minor in Psychology.
During her time at URI, she was the president of URI’s chapter of Hillel and is a sister of Phi Sigma Sigma. Shayna attributes her love for her higher education to her positive experiences at URI.
In her role as an academic advisor, Shayna enjoys connecting and building meaningful relationships with students. She also enjoys researching and learning more about the ever-changing field of Higher Education.
Shayna hails from Newton, MA but currently lives in Woburn, MA. Outside of Suffolk, Shayna is a reality TV fanatic. She is a Boston Sports fan and even has a dog named Fenway! She is also a lover of Creole, Japanese, Mexican, and Thai food, and can be seen drinking iced coffee even during Boston’s winter weather.
Jack has worked in higher education for many years, beginning in the Suffolk University Registrar’s Office and then the Sawyer Business School Undergraduate Programs Office. Jack joined the Undergraduate Academic Advising Center in 2013, when it was created as part of the Division of Student Success.
As Director of Academic Advising, Jack oversees the operations of the Academic Advising Center, and he enjoys teaching students the importance of goal setting and long-term planning in order to make the most of their Suffolk experience.
He received his B.A in Communication from UMass Amherst and an M.Ed. in Administration of Higher Education from Suffolk University. Outside of work Jack enjoys running, following Suffolk Athletics, and spending time with his two children. He recently participated in Suffolk's annual "Dancing with the Stahs" event.
