Repeating a Course

Undergraduate: When a student repeats a course all grades appear on the transcript. The highest grade is used to compute cumulative GPA. Prior to Fall 2018 the last grade was used to calculate the GPA. Certain Suffolk University courses are identified as repeatable, all credits earned and grades are calculated in the GPA. The original course will be noted with “Repeated Course.”

Graduate students: SBS graduate students may only repeat one failed course. The most recent grade will be used to compute cumulative GPA. The failed course remains on the transcript. CAS graduate students – a student may retake one course where an “F” grade was received. The original grade will remain on the transcript but is not included in the GPA.
