If you decide to live off-campus, choosing your own roommates, paying bills and rent, having a relationship with your landlord, being active in your community, and cooking your own meals are just a few of the responsibilities and challenges you’ll face. Our office is your go-to resource to help guide you every step of the way.
Knowing Your Rights
Knowing your rights as a tenant in and around the City of Boston is key to successful off-campus living. Check out the Boston Rental Housing Center's website for more information regarding your rights that include free mediation involving housing-related disputes. Also, don't forget to stay up-to-date about Massachusetts Laws from both a landlord and tenant perspective.
Off-Campus Student Behavior Policy
While off-campus and commuter students do not live on-campus, they are still a part of the Suffolk community. As an off-campus Suffolk student living in the City of Boston, you are sharing your environment with a number of other stakeholders. The University expects that you will be a positive representation of the institution based on the choices and actions that you make in your living space.

- In addition to this policy, the Office of Neighborhood Response and the Student Affairs Office/Dean of Students provide information on safe and successful off-campus living.
