Service After Hours and Service Day

Want to serve your community? The Center for Community Engagement offers a variety of community service opportunities throughout the year that serve the needs of our local community.

If we don't currently offer what you are looking for, we can tailor a volunteer opportunity to suit the type of experience you want or help you initiate a community service project in any area of interest.

Suffolk students participating in community service in East Boston

Service Day

Every April, the Center for Community Engagement hosts a University-wide Service Day to bring Suffolk students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends together to make our community a better place. Together, we work in partnership with local nonprofit organizations in Greater Boston on critical community-based projects.

Celebrate 26 years of community engagement on Friday April 1, 2024 as we celebrate our 26th annual Service Day!

This is a weekly program where you can volunteer with the same organization each week for the semester or the year. This program connects you to other Suffolk students, helps build your network in Boston, and allows you to make a long-term impact in your community. You can join as a volunteer or take on a leadership role as a project leader, where you will learn valuable leadership skills and development, helping to empower other Suffolk students to get involved in their community.
