In collaboration with the Journey Program, the Center for Community Engagement offers an immersive Service and Leadership experience in Atlanta that uses the city as a living classroom. Through service, community partnerships, and reflection, students explore Atlanta’s legacy as the birthplace of the Civil Rights Movement and its ongoing role in advancing social justice. Rooted in servant leadership, this program empowers students to connect history with action and grow as ethical, community-minded leaders.

The Alternative Break trip to Panama explores the intersection of environmental challenges and social inequality through service, cultural exchange, and Spanish immersion. Students engage with Afro-Latina communities to examine climate change, sustainability, and access to resources. Additional Giving Opportunities

Service Learning, Service After Hours, and Service Week

These initiatives connect students, faculty, and staff with local and national nonprofits, fostering service and civic engagement. Students can network with organizations like 826 Boston, Boston Foodbank, Big Brothers Big Sisters, Habitat for Humanity, and others. This year, we are building upon Service Day in the spring by expanding it to Service Week in the fall, offering more opportunities for student groups to engage with nonprofits. The national value of each volunteer hour is $33.49. Funds will support screening, training, and related expenses. To donate, select CCE Discretionary Fund from the dropdown menu on the giving form.
