Outside Scholarships

Student recipients of outside scholarships, benefits or awards must notify the OFA in writing regarding any outside funds received.

Students who receive a scholarship, grant, employer tuition benefit, or other tuition assistance not included as part of their original aid award should note that it may affect their annual financial aid award. This includes other institutional scholarship programs, including endowed and named scholarships, which may be awarded and added throughout the academic year.

Funds from any and all sources, including, but not limited to, Suffolk institutional scholarships, Suffolk endowed and named scholarships, outside scholarships, employer tuition benefits, and some veteran’s benefits may not exceed a student’s annual tuition charges.

Students who have been awarded funds from any and all sources, including, but not limited to, outside scholarships, employer tuition benefits, and some veteran’s benefits must notify the Office of Student Financial Services of this funding in writing.

Students who have been awarded funds from any and all sources, including, but not limited to, Suffolk endowed and named scholarships, outside scholarships, employer tuition benefits, and some veteran’s benefits and already have Suffolk Institutional funds may have the Suffolk institutional funds reduced or canceled to avoid an over award.

Outside scholarships are posted on our Facebook page. Questions concerning this policy should be addressed to Student Financial Services.
